TV Review – Master Chef with Gordon Ramsey

Not sure yet how I feel about the new show Master Chef on Fox 5, featuring chef Gordon Ramsey. Sort of an American Idol for foodies. I start watching the show and comment to Mr. Cheese how I wish I’d heard about it during auditions because I am totally perfect to be a contestant. I watch some of the folks cook for the judges with confidence while some of them flail around. All the while wishing I could jump through the screen, give Graham Elliot a hug and snag his glasses. I grew bored after 10 minutes and had to change the channel because I could not deal with the looooong, duh duh duh draaaaaawn out draaaaaaaama of what Chef Ramsey was going to say about a dish being disgusting or someone getting an apron or not. I spent more time literally hanging off the edge of my couch waiting for the commercials to end, than I did enjoying the show. I think I’ll tune in again once the auditions are done, to see if the ‘catch the viewer’ strategy has changed, any.

About tossingtheswissaround

I have been obsessed with food since I can remember. I grew up watching the Frugal Gourmet and Julia Childs in black and white repeats on TV. I made an elementary version of veal parmesan when I was all of 8 years old and even concocted a homemade version of vomit to drizzle along the hallway and oh-so-carefully in the bathroom so I could get of school whenever I wanted. Dad never caught on but I eventually came clean about that vomit recipe. About two years ago. My skills have greatly improved and my obsession has only deepened as the years go by. In the mornings, I ask my co-workers what’s for lunch, what they ate last night and what is on the menu tonight. I groan when I eat almost anything I like because I can barely contain my excitement. Because, well, because it’s food! I was technically trained and once worked as a formal chef but physically that takes its toll so I joined the much less strenuous, albeit entertaining, world of HR. Food is still at the forefront of my mind as I continue to cook and love all things food. Enjoy!

Red Team getting put up for elimination during the sausage challenge with the Bikers was totally unfair. The chef judge gave the blue team advice DURING the challenge thereby giving the blue team an unfair advantage by improving their food. Totally UNFAIR!!!! Blue team should of been in elimination.
